Cross-Cultural Integration System (CCIS) for Organizations

For HR, People & Culture teams and EAP providers:

Your expat hires aren't underperforming because they're not capable. They're disoriented...and disorientation, left unsupported, walks out the door.

I provide structured cross-cultural and mental health coaching that catches this before it becomes a resignation letter, cutting the turnover that's costing you your best talent.

What is CCIS?

Cross-Cultural Integration System (CCIS)

CCIS is a 90-day program for the moment you stopped recognizing yourself.

For the version of you sitting in the car for ten minutes before walking into a meeting, rehearsing how to sound normal. For the nights doing time-zone math, missing people who are asleep and can't understand why you're struggling when you "chose this." For sitting at your desk, capable and qualified, watching yourself underperform anyway and second-guessing every email, not knowing how to read a room that runs on rules nobody ever taught you.

That's culture shock. It's not weakness, and it doesn't fix itself with time. Left alone, it just gets heavier and the isolation deepens, the performance at work keeps slipping, and the grief of what you've had to leave behind and that you haven't had space to feel starts showing up as anxiety, as exhaustion, as a low hum of dread you can't name.

Some people white-knuckle it for years. Some quietly give up and go home, calling it "not the right fit" and feeling like a failure, when really, no one ever taught them how to fit. Marriages strain. Careers stall. The person you were who left in the first place starts to feel like someone you can't find your way back to.

CCIS works on three fronts, because this isn't a one-part problem.

Culture Shock: Understanding what's actually happening to you, so it stops feeling like personal failure and starts feeling like a known, navigable stage that is temporary and normal.

Cross-Cultural Competence: The trainable skill of reading, adapting to, and functioning inside a culture that doesn't run on your instincts, so meetings stop feeling like a minefield and small talk stops feeling like a test you're failing.

Mental Health Support: Because grieving the life you left is real grief, and Culture Shock is one of the most stressful things one can do in life...and it deserves more than "you'll get used to it." Psychoeducation, live group support, and space to feel it without performing "fine."

Delivered through on-demand modules for the nights you can't sleep, plus live Zoom calls with expats who've sat on the same bench, cried in the same car park, missed the same version of home and get how you feel.

The longer this goes unaddressed, the harder it is to undo, in your career, your relationships, and how you see yourself. You didn't move here to just survive it.

Sunet Gopaul, Specialist Psychotherapist (Trauma) and expat coach, founder of Lost Bob Immigration Dynamics

Sunet Gopaul

Sunet Gopaul is the founder of Lost Bob Immigration Dynamics and creator of the Cross-Cultural Integration System (CCIS).

A trained Specialist Psychotherapist (Trauma) and Globally Trained Expat Coach, Sunet specialises in Mental Health, Culture Shock, Cross-Cultural Competence, and long-term Expat integration.

Her work is grounded in lived experience: after relocating abroad alone, returning home burnt out and experiencing reverse culture shock, and later moving abroad again as a trailing spouse and rebuilding a career and identity in a new country, Sunet developed CCIS to give other expat professionals the structured map she didn't have the first time around.

Based in Campbelltown, South Australia, she now works with English-speaking expat professionals worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Lost Bob Immigration Dynamics the same as therapy?

No. Lost Bob provides expat coaching and psychoeducation, not clinical psychotherapy. While founder Sunet Gopaul is a trained Specialist Psychotherapist (Trauma), CCIS is a coaching and group support programme focused on Culture Shock and cross-cultural integration, not a clinical treatment service.

Does Lost Bob help with visas, CVs, or immigration paperwork?

No. Lost Bob does not provide visa advice, immigration documentation support, CV writing, or interview preparation. CCIS focuses specifically on the psychological and practical side of Culture Shock and long-term cross-cultural integration, not the logistics of relocating.

Can I do CCIS if I'm extremely busy with work?

Yes. CCIS combines on-demand modules you can complete on your own schedule with live group calls at set times, designed to fit around a full-time professional schedule.

What results can I expect from CCIS?

Outcomes vary, but CCIS is designed to help participants understand what they're experiencing, reduce the overwhelm of Culture Shock, build practical cross-cultural integration skills, and feel more confident and capable in both their new role and new country within the 90-day period.
